Verizon Fios Leaves Cable Internet In The Dust

Once upon a time, everyone connected to the Internet over phone lines. Dialup was slow and the lines were often busy, but that was what we had. At work we might have the luxury of a T1 line, but at home we had, at best, 56K. Then DSL and cable modems came along, and high-speed Internet access became a consumer product. Now Verizon FiOS is changing the face of consumer Internet access.

If you watch much television, you see a ton of commercials from your cable provider bragging about the speed of their Internet connection, compared to DSL. Unfortunately for the cable company, Verizon FiOS is faster, cheaper, and more reliable than cable modems. Add great service and members-only content, and Verizon FiOS embarrasses cable companies.

The key to Verizon’s speed and reliability lies in its fiber-optic connection that extends all the way to your computer. Cable companies brag about fiber-optic networks, but don’t advertise that their fiber-optic network goes only to the curb. Until Verizon FiOS, no Internet provider has offered fiber-optic all the way to the computer. This groundbreaking new technology makes Verizon FiOS the obvious choice over cable Internet.

With Verizon FiOS, you get up to 50 Mbps or 30 Mbps downstream and up to 20 or 5 Mbps upstream, which in plain English means you get the fastest possible Internet access in your home. Nothing else compares to broadband access from Verizon FiOS.

Because Verizon FiOS is 100% digital, traveling only over fiber-optic connections, your Internet access is more reliable, and you’ll suffer fewer outages and less downtime with Verizon.

You’ll also pay less for your faster connection and better service from Verizon FiOS. With plans starting at $42.99 monthly, Verizon FiOS is more affordable than DSL and cable. Most people would happily take better service for less monthly. Wouldn’t you?

For many people, Internet access has become a necessity. If you’re like the average Internet user, you check email from home, work from home at least occasionally, catch up on news, and spend time on the Internet searching for information and taking care of personal and professional business. With Verizon FiOS, your home Internet experience is faster, more reliable, and more affordable.

If you like what you’ve heard so far about Verizon FiOS, you may be wondering how difficult it will be to install. With fiber-optic all the way to your computer, FiOS can sound a little daunting. Good news. Verizon offers free professional installation with your one-year contract. A Verizon installation technician will come to your home, install the wiring, get your computer on the Internet, and provide a welcome kit with everything you need to take full advantage of your new Verizon FiOS service.

Most people who already pay for cable or DSL will readily agree that a faster connection, over more reliable fiber-optic lines, with free installation with one-year contract, and exclusive members-only contract, is definitely worth paying less for. With Verizon FiOS as an option, there’s just no point in paying more for inferior service.

Verizon FiOS Offers All-Digital Fiber-Optic Internet

Some Internet access providers claim to have an all-fiber optic network, but that is not quite true. Every network providers except Verizon actually offers fiber-optic only to the curb; your signal travels into your home through regular copper wiring. Until very recently, fiber-optic into the home was not possible, though most cable providers don’t advertise the fact that the fiber-optic connection stops at the curb. Now, with Verizon FiOS, your Internet connection travels over a fiber-optic network all the way to your computer.

This “all-the-way-to-your-home” fiber-optic connection brings Verizon FiOS into your home with connections of up to 50 Mbps or 30 Mbps downstream, depending on your package, and up to 20 Mbps or 5 Mbps upstream. In non-technical terms, Verizon FiOS offers the fastest home Internet access available.

What makes fiber-optic so much faster? We hear “fiber-optic” all the time, but may not know exactly what it means or how it can deliver data so much faster and more reliably. The “fiber” in fiber-optic stands for extremely fine strands of glass fiber. Bursts of light are transmitted through these fibers at amazingly fast rates. These digital signals travel at much higher speeds than analog signals on conventional copper wiring, making your Verizon FiOS Internet connection blazingly fast.

Verizon FiOS is also extremely reliable. Not only does your Internet connection travel over fiber-optic lines all the way to your computer, but you also have the assurance of working with Verizon, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. If you’ve been frustrated with the service from your cable company when your Internet connection went down, you’ll appreciate Verizon’s professionalism.

When you sign a one-year Verizon FiOS contract, you’ll receive free professional installation; a Verizon technician will come to your home, connect your computer to the Verizon FiOS network, make sure everything is up and running, migrate any voice connections to the new network, and provide you with a welcome kit filled with information and resources for getting the most out of your Verizon FiOS connection.

Verizon believes having the best connection should be affordable. It may surprise you to learn that you can get Verizon FiOS for less than your current cable connection, with fiber-optic all the way to your computer and free installation with your one-year connection. Verizon FiOS starts at only $42.99 per month for faster connections and better service than you’re currently receiving from cable.

Your home Internet connection brings you news, entertainment, email, and more. Whether you use it to run a home business or just for information, entertainment and education in your downtime, you need the fastest, most robust, most reliable possible connection. Verizon FiOS gives you the best possible Internet connection at the best possible price.

Now that Verizon FiOS brings fiber-optic connection right to your home, delivering the fastest service, exclusive games and entertainment content, and phenomenal service, you can free yourself from mediocre Internet service. Act now to get your one-year contract and set up your free professional installation of Verizon FiOS.

Verizon FiOS – Faster Internet For Less

If you watch television, and particularly if you have cable television, you probably see ads on a regular basis touting the “faster Internet” services from your cable provider. While cable Internet is certainly an improvement on other Internet access options, Verizon FiOS now offers faster connections than cable, for less money, with better quality and service. Not a hard choice for most people.

Verizon FiOS service offers the only Internet connections that travels over fiber-optic lines all the way to your computer. Cable providers boast fiber-optic networks, but don’t advertise the fact that these networks extend only to the curb, not into your home. Verizon FiOS is the first Internet provider to take advantage of new technology which takes fiber-optic connections right into your home, all the way to your computer.

How fast is fast? For the technical-minded, Verizon FiOS speeds are up to 50 Mbps or 30 Mbps downstream and 20 or 5 Mbps upstream. For the non-technical-minded: very, very fast.

You might expect that a faster Internet connection would be much more expensive than cable Internet, but in fact, Verizon FiOS is cheaper than cable. With rates starting at $42.99, you’ll pay less for Verizon’s faster service than you currently pay for cable Internet.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter how fast your Internet connection is if you can’t connect. You pay for access, not outages, and you expect your Internet access to work when you need it. With Verizon FiOS, you get reliable access and friendly customer service from one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. If asked, most people would not give their cable company high marks for reliability or service; Verizon FiOS gives you the quality and customer support you need and deserve.

Installing a new Internet connection is probably the last way you want to spend your free time, right? With your one-year Verizon FiOS contract, you receive free installation. A professional Verizon installation technician will come to your home, install Verizon FiOS on your primary computer, connect you to the Internet, connect any voice services that are moving over to FiOS, and provide a welcome kit with all the information you need to make the most of your service. You’ll keep your free time free, and know that your Verizon connection has been set up correctly.

Most people would willingly pay more for the enhanced speed and quality of Verizon FiOS, coupled with the excellent customer service of Verizon and the exclusive members-only content, including games, movie trailers and reviews, and music reviews and mixes. You no doubt agree that all of this is worth at least as much as you’re currently paying for cable. After all, this is much more than you get from your current provider.

The good news is, you do not need to pay more for Verizon FiOS; in fact, you’ll pay less. With packages starting at $42.99, Verizon FiOS is faster, better, and cheaper than cable or DSL. Now is the time to switch to Verizon FiOS and start getting more for less.

Verizon FiOS is Exploding Across the Nation

Have you heard about Verizon FiOS? The Verizon FiOS network is exploding across the nation, giving consumers a better and cheaper choice when it comes to broadband Internet, VOIP phone service and digital TV. Already industry experts are saying that Verizon FiOS will revolutionize the mass communications industry and drive down the prices that customers have to pay.

After all, who wants to pay the high prices that cable and satellite companies charge and deal with all the inconveniences that comes along with satellite and cable services when they could pay less for higher quality digital TV, super fast Internet service and crystal clear VOIP technology? No one, which is why the satellite and cable companies are paying close attention to the buzz about the Verizon FiOS services.

The basis of the Verizon FiOS system is an extensive fiber optic network. Using fiber optics instead of copper wire, which is what many satellite and cable companies still use, allows for more speed, higher quality, and better picture and sound. The traditional copper wires that other companies use are like garden hoses through which information, VOIP calls, and TV shows and movie flow through. Compared to those old copper wires, the Verizon FiOS fiber optic network is like a fire hose, allowing much greater amounts of information and data to flow through faster than any other network.

Most satellite and cable companies can’t produce an Internet speed of more than 8 mega bytes per second. Verizon FiOS Internet service can produce top speeds of 30 mega bytes per second. Think about that for a minute. Verizon FiOS is more than three times faster than the fastest Internet connection that you can get with cable. And it costs about the same or less in some places than cable Internet. It’s not hard to see why the industry experts are banking on Verizon FiOS to become the next big thing in communications.

It’s not just industry experts that are praising Verizon FiOS. Customers love the clarity and sound quality of Verizon FiOS TV, the convenience of FiOS VOIP phone service and the lightning fast speed of Verizon FiOS Internet service. And because Verizon is offering a superior product for the same price or less than the satellite and cable companies those other companies are being forced to drop their prices in order to stay competitive which helps consumers all over the country.

Verizon FiOS isn’t available everywhere just yet because some parts of the extraordinary fiber optic network are still being built and in other places there are franchise agreements that need to be worked out. But Verizon FiOS already has industry experts and consumers excited about the digital TV, VOIP phone and high speed Internet services that are offered. Check to see if Verizon FiOS is available in your area. If it is, sign up now and see what all the excitement is about for yourself. If it’s not available near you yet you can sign up for email updates that will let you know when you can sign up for Verizon FiOS in your area.

5 Ways Verizon Fios is Raising the Bar

For a long time there have been only two choices when it comes to Internet service: dial up, or broadband. Now the introduction of the new Verizon FiOS fiber optic Internet connection has raised the bar and given consumers a new choice when it comes to fast and reliable Internet service. Verizon FiOS is leading the way in the technological overhaul of the communications industry to make Internet service, phone service and digital TV service much more accessible to everyone and more reliable. Verizon FiOS has raised the bar for Internet services in five ways:

1. Innovation – The Verizon FiOS network is the first multi media communication network build on a fiber optic frame. Satellite and cable companies that offer broadband Internet service still use outdated copper wiring as the frame for their networks, and dial up providers still use landline phone wiring. Fiber optics allows the Verizon FiOS Internet service to be faster and more reliable than traditional broadband. Using fiber optics is still new in the mass technology field and Verizon is the first company to undertake the development of an entirely fiber optic network.

2. Cost – Even though the cost of building a huge fiber optic network was immense, the Verizon FiOS Internet service is available to consumers for about the same price as traditional broadband Internet service. In many places people that sign up for the Verizon FiOS Internet service actually pay less than they would pay for slower satellite DSL or cable Internet service. Cost is a big issue for a lot of people when it comes to Internet service. Verizon knows that value is important to customers and offers great introductory pricing deals, specially priced service bundles, and other options that will help people save money on their services.

3. Speed – There is no comparison between Verizon FiOS Internet service and cable or satellite Internet service when it comes to speed. The top tier speed for most cable companies is about 8 mega bytes per second. The lowest speed of Verizon FiOS is 5 mega bytes per second, so the lowest Verizon speed is almost as fast as the fastest cable Internet connection. And the Verizon FiOS Internet service can go up to a whopping 30 mega bytes per second. That is the fastest Internet connection on the consumer market today.

4. Availability – The Verizon FiOS Internet service is still being rolled out in some areas because of complications from franchise agreements but the company is working on being able to offer Verizon FiOS high speed Internet service to customers all over the country. Satellite Internet can be difficult to some areas and in other areas national cable conglomerates have been the only choice consumers have had for Internet service. Soon that will change as the Verizon FiOS Internet service becomes more readily available.

5. Technology – The Verizon FiOs Internet service combined with the Verizon FiOs digital TV service and digital VOIP phone service uses equipment that is on the cutting edge of technology to give their customers more choices, better service, faster Internet, and great prices with easy to use and understand equipment.

Verizon FiOS has raised the bar in many ways as they change the way consumers access the internet, phone service and digital TV.

The 3 Best Things About Verizon FiOS

Verizon Fios is the best package out there when it comes to getting your television, phone service, and high speed Internet all from one source. The television service is astounding because there are tons of different channels to choose from. No matter what type of television you like to watch, you will be sure to find something that works for you. The great thing about Verizon Fios is that it is significantly faster than cable. If you are sick of waiting forever for your web pages to load then it is time for you to switch to Verizon Fios. The other great thing about Verizon Fios is that it is extremely affordable. No matter what your budget is the cost of Fios will cost you significantly less than cable service or satellite.

#1 – Verizon FiOS TV

The best part about getting the Verizon FiOS TV package is that there are tons of different channels to choose from. Cable television does not have nearly as many channels as Verizon FiOS does. This is an extremely good thing because it allows for you to watch a variety of different programs depending on what mood you are in. If you want to watch the history channel one night you can do that, but if on another night you feel like watching comedy central you will have that as well! It is just astounding that Verizon FiOS can provide you with so many different sources of entertainment right from your own home.

If you are a person that loves to watch movies, then Verizon FiOS TV is perfect for you. Verizon provides its subscribers with a variety of different movie channels so that you can watch tons of different types of movies. You will be able to choose to watch Starz, HBO, and even Cinemax on demand if you want to watch movies from the comfort of your own home.

#2 – Verizon FiOS is Lightning Quick – Blows Away Cable Speeds

If you are one of those people that has to wait several minutes for a simple web page to load then it is time for you to switch to Verizon FiOS Internet service. This Internet service is lightning quick because it runs on fiber optic cables. Fiber optic cables are the most advanced kind of Internet cable out there on the market today. The other great thing about fiber optic cable is that it runs under ground instead of through phone lines. This is a very big advantage because as a result you will not have to worry about your Internet going down during a storm.

If you are someone that likes to play games through the Internet, perhaps on your Xbox 360, then this is another reason to get Verizon FiOS. Many people do not realize that having a fast connection can significantly help them with their video gaming.

#3 – Verizon FiOS is Affordable

Many people think that the cost of Verizon FiOS is going to be extremely expensive. The fact of the matter is that Verizon FiOS is actually extremely affordable no matter what your budget is. You can get Internet as well as phone service for only fifty dollars a month. This is an amazing price that cable simply cannot compete with!

Overall, as a smart consumer your best option is to switch over to the Verizon FiOS service. In the long run this will save you tons of money. On top of that it will give you some of the best Internet and television service out there. Buying Verizon FiOS means that you will pay less, but get more in the long run.

Verizon DSL – It’s Cheaper Than You Think

Verizon DSL is a digital subscriber link (DSL) internet service provided by Verizon communications. Internet can be accessed in many ways like cable, ISDN, dial-up, optical fiber, power line internet, satellite, wi-fi, DSL etc. The advantage of DSL is that the voice telephone and fax can be used simultaneously with the internet connection. DSL technology takes advantage of the fact that on the telephone line, voice occupies a very small bandwidth and a large bandwidth is unused. This unused bandwidth is utilized by DSL for internet. Verizon DSL can also be used to connect more than one computer to one connection.

DSL internet service is provided over the ordinary telephone. Verizon DSL is available in most places where verizon has provided telephone service. However DSL is not available on all telephone lines due to physical limitations. If the telephone is beyond 3 miles from the verizon central office (telephone exchange) the DSL service is not available. This is because the quality of the connection generally deteriorates beyond the 3 mile limit. Further if the copper wiring in the home telephone line is not as per requirements DSL service cannot be provided. Whether Verizon DSL can be provided or not to a particular Verizon telephone line can be checked easily by entering the telephone number in the URL given below.

Verizon DSL is available in two packages. The Home package and The Business Package. Home package is available in two speeds, 3 Mbps/768 Kbps and 768Kbps/128Kbps. The rates are $312.45 $ per year and $ 164.45per year respectively. The charges have to be paid in monthly installments. A $19.95 shipping and activation will be charged separately.

For business DSL the prices are, 768Kbps $24.95MO, 3Mbps/768 Kbps $39.95 MO, 7.2 Mbps $79.95 MO. $25 setup fee and equipment for all packages.

Verizon DSL supports both PC and Macintosh. The minimum PC requirements for Verizon DSL are any one of the operating systems, Windows98, Windows Me, Windows XP or Windows 2000. 233 MHz Intel Pentium processor or equivalent or higher. For Windows XP, 300 MHz Intel Pentium processor or equivalent or higher. 128 MB RAM for Windows XP or 2000. 64 MB RAM for other OS. 100 MB free disk space. CD-ROM or DVD drive. USB Port or 10Base-T Ethernet Network Interface Card.

For Macintosh computers the minimum requirements are Macintosh OS X or 10.2-10.4 .PowerPC processor with speeds 120 MHz or higher. 64 MB RAM. 100 MB free disk space. CD-ROM or DVD drive. 10-Base-T Ethernet Network Interface Card. Alternatively the computer can be assessed automatically for compatibility with Verizon DSL at this URL. http://www22.verizon.com/ForHomeDSL/channels/dsl/sysreq/pc.asp

Verizon DSL can be ordered online. Verizon DSL comes with a self installing kit. The kit is an audio visual guide on how to install the DSL modem, using DSL filters, and installing Verizon Online DSL software. In case of difficulty the 24/7 live technical support is available. There are other benefits of opting for Verizon DSL, such as 10 MB webspace, 9 e-mail accounts, 30 day money back guarantee etc. (If the individual is not satisfied with Verizon DSL he will be repaid the money he has paid.)

Signing up with a broadband Internet service provider can involve a very difficult installation, or paying through the nose for a professional installation. With Verizon FiOS fiber-optic Internet access, you receive free professional installation with your one-year contract.

One of Verizon’s trained, professional installers will come to your home to install your Verizon FiOS Internet service at your convenience. You won’t have to struggle with installing wiring or hardware yourself, and you’ll have the assurance that everything is working before the technician leaves your home.

Your professional installation of Verizon FiOS includes installing the necessary wiring to your primary computer. If you use a wired or wireless home network, the other computers in your home can access the Internet through your primary computer using wireless or Ethernet network adapters, also available from Verizon.

If your installation requires any wall jacks for telephone service, your installer will set up the jacks as part of your installation service, at no additional cost. With your one-year Verizon FiOS contract, you get all the installation services required to get you up and running, at no charge.

After setting up your hardware, your installation tech will install the Verizon FiOS software on your computer. If you’ve ever wrestled with a new software installation, you’ll appreciate having a pro get the Verizon FiOS software running for you. While the software is very intuitive, you’ll no doubt be glad to spend your time on something else, and let your technician handle this installation.

Your installer will connect your computer to the Internet and verify that your Verizon FiOS connection is working properly. Before the technician leaves your home, you’ll be surfing the Internet at lightning speed, courtesy of Verizon FiOS’s fiber-optic network that extends all the way into your home.

Once your Internet connection is working, your Verizon technician will migrate any voice services on your account to Verizon FiOS and make sure your new FiOS phone service is working properly.

Finally, your installer will present you with a welcome kit with all the information you need to get the most enjoyment and use out of your Verizon FiOS connection, including games, entertainment and Verizon Central. Any questions you may have about your Verizon FiOS service will be answered in this welcome kit.

Professional installation is just one of the many benefits of your new high-speed, fiber-optic Verizon FiOS service. You’ll also receive the fastest possible Internet access in your home, great entertainment and games through the Verizon network, and the confidence of knowing that you’re working with Verizon, one of the largest providers of telecommunications services in the world.

Changing Internet providers can be nerve-wracking, particularly if you’re not particularly technically minded. Many Internet service providers charge high fees for professional installation, and installing the hardware and software yourself can be challenging and time-consuming. Verizon’s courteous, professional installers come to your home at your convenience, help you get up and running, make sure everything is in order, and let you spend your time using your new Verizon FiOS Internet service, not installing it.
